Summary

Systems Engineer with a background in web development (PHP, React.js, MongoDB). I spent thirteen years in the operation of the SITM-MIO transit system in Cali — scheduling routes, analysing data and coordinating technology — before settling in Spain. Here I joined the Pérez Rumbao group on the production side, at Bétula CARS, and today I work in its IT department supporting every company in the group. Alongside that I build personal projects with Laravel, including an incident management system: the same ground I cover day to day. I am looking for an opportunity to keep growing and contribute to a dynamic team.

  Pérez Rumbao is the holding company that runs the group’s head office, and the IT resources of all its businesses are managed from there. I support users across the group’s companies — Apersa, Bepersa, Bétula CARS and Zinamóvil, among others — whose IT incidents all come through our department. I pick up each report through the ticketing system, resolve it or pass it on depending on what it needs, and follow it through to closure while keeping the user informed.

  I prepared individual vehicle parts for the painting process: cleaning and sanding the surfaces, filling where it was needed and masking the areas that had to stay unpainted. The aim was to leave every part ready for the finish to take evenly. As a recent joiner my work focused on individual parts rather than whole vehicles, and I did not get to work inside the paint booth.

  I scheduled the routes of the SITM-MIO in Cali, the mass transit system shared between the concession holders GIT Masivo, Blanco y Negro Masivo, ETM and Unimetro. I analysed journey times with Python and Pandas to find where the operation was losing time and adjusted the scheduling from that data. I ran the Python environment in Docker so I could work without installing it on the corporate Windows machine. ETM operated with a workforce of around 350 people.

  I was the organisation’s entire IT department on my own, with the help of a SENA trainee for six months. I looked after the Asterisk phone system, the server and internet gateway running ClearOS with its firewall, and the databases. I evaluated and piloted Odoo as an ERP, which in the end was not adopted. I registered on the internal platform the drivers hired by the owners of the vehicles, in a structure of around 30 people across administration and dispatch.
